Classical Competitive Dressage in Florida
Training

Mission Statement

Specializing in correctly and classically starting a young horse or rider from the beginning and taking them thru the levels to Grand Prix in dressage.

Methods

The training method is based on almost the same idea as the training of dancers: relaxation, stretching, and gymnastasizing, to preserve, confirm, and optimize the horses natural gaits. It is our purpose to develop the natural abilities of the horse and to make riding a graceful, pleasurable experience.
We think of each horse as an individual athlete. We work with a large variety of breeds and adjust our training methods accordingly, following the principles of: the Cadre Noir of Saumur (the French national school), Patrick le Rolland (French Olympic Trainer and medallist). Pierre Pradier (the Federal vet for the French Olympic team). Nuno Oliveira (the famous master of Portugal), and Gustav Stienbrech (Germany). We work in collaboration with a vet to follow the physical development of each horse.
Our teaching philosophy is to define the goals of the rider and develop the horse in such a way that the horse, the rider and the trainer can move together in the same direction. We believe that dressage can and should be fun, for both the horse and the rider.
In the idea of researching more willingness of the horse, bringing out the horses natural gaits to their maximum potential, and developing a true partnership with the horse, work outside and gymnastics over cavalletti are a part of our training program.
Although we are primarily dressage trainers, we also offer "Dressage for jumpers" .Training jumpers with the classical fundamentals of dressage is critical to the development of a willing, flexible, and ultimately successful jumping partner. The different phases of dressage training can be applied to the creation of a jumper capable of excelling on todays courses with their tight distances and lightweight constructed fences. A Horse at the end of your reins, balanced on his hind quarters, elastic in his back and in self carriage will be a joy to ride and will be able to jump to his maximum potential.
We offer full and partial training, work in hand, work in long reins, the airs above the ground, work in freedom and free jumping. Cross country work and work outside in nature. We start young horses, work with stallions, and difficult hard to manage horses.
We prepare horses and riders to compete and coach at competitions, compete and promote horses, and prepare horses for sale. We work with junior and young riders through adult, offering both individual and group lessons. Instruction in musical freestyles, pas de deux, and quadrille is also part of our training program.
